In vitro diagnostics (IVDs) are diagnostic tests that examine samples taken from the human body, such as blood, mucus or urine, outside the body. Examples of IVDs include toxoplasmosis, Malaria, vitamin D (see below) and tests that show whether a person has antibodies to a disease/virus. The advantage of IVD rapid tests is that they are simple to perform and give quick results.
Lomina Group (www.lomina.ch) was founded in 2007 in Switzerland and also has a production site in the Czech Republic. These two divisions focus on the development and production of In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) devices and tests. Lomina is completely independent, shares are 100% privately owned within the EU. The IVD tests are Made in Europe.
ClearSafeProducts handles sales/distribution of Lomina products in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Scandinavia, among others.
Lomina produces 40 different IVD tests, view the range here. Currently, the Strep A, Strep B, Urinary Tract Infections and Helicobacter pylori antibody test are still under development. The Drug test (rapid test for 6 different types of drugs) is expected to be ready by the end of 2022.
Vitamin D is needed to absorb calcium from food into the body. It is therefore important for growing and maintaining strong bones and teeth. Vitamin D also plays a major role in proper muscle function and the immune system.
Lomina's Vitamin D rapid test gives a semi-quantitative result:
